Craighead Green Gallery’s Opening Night
The opening was fabulous. Lots of traffic, many of my friends included, and all around excellent artwork. And I was particularly over the moon with where the gallery placed my piece–front and center!! Thank you Katherine Wagner, Executive Director for Business for the Arts and juror and Craighead Green for sponsoring this show!

The Biggest One Yet!
In oh so many ways!! Being accepted in the New Texas Talent at Craighead Green’s annual show is huge for the artistic community! The gallery is one of the most respected and prestigious contemporary art galleries in Texas, so you can imagine how honored I am in being invited to exhibit a piece from […]
The Last of the Load-ups
A dirge for Not So Famous Amos, 2001-2011 You made the man who collects your pooh cry, seeing the blood, and so did we, as did they all as we left you behind. After the man cried and the evening before we left you behind, your head owled around your shoulder. Rolling that imperious shark […]
The Best I Heard
I need a break from all the ennui and angst The man said as he careened out of the poetry reading and into the street. Much to be said for this observation; many hearts-on-tatted sleeves last night.
On Waking Saturday Morning
The muddle of newsy news snapped off and the flush of air elbowed its force thru the ducts, spilling chill into the room and then sighed and quieted Quiet now, I wondered what the doctor meant when he told me I had a very small cervix.
Weirdo Magnet
The handsome men. Never see me. There was always someone with longer legs sunnier hair more come hither-i-ness that would flint their interests. But the odd ducks flock to me. Encircling me like fanboys. How is that? Do they intuit I am lame at heart, little shy, as much an outsider, as they? […]
Musings on Musings and James T.
Poetry has recently insinuated itself into my life. Been reading some, particularly James Tate and Tracy K. Smith. Which, with a surge of working in the studio with the Dark Matters series, teased out some words of my own. So, periodically I will be sharing some that I’ve written. In the interim, seeking a means […]

Invitiation to a Heritage Art Auction
I was very flattered to receive an invitation to submit to the Dallas Arboretum’s Artscape II event. From the Reliquary series (ever growing), I selected Dirge for a Jay to be auctioned. This piece is 80″x24″ mounted on a birch panel with [fake] silver leafed edges. The event is two-fold, an on-line auction and an […]
Update on the “Business of Art” Workshop
I thought I’d share the update from my CityWork blog regarding the outcome of my recent workshop at The MAC: We had a turn-out of approximately 20 people who braved this left-brain presentation on DIY web presence for artists. Lots of good questions, some people furiously wrote notes and yes, as expected a few unstifled yawns. I […]
