Idyllic, fanciful, and beautiful on the surface, these photomontage/mixed media pieces deliver a subtle, less joyous message. This series is an homage to the original Grimm’s fairy tales, where only a few characters are suffered to live happily ever after. Beyond these commentaries, Sharon simply has an affinity for old fairy tales.
Sharon has sought to recreate the sense of illusion, ephemera and mystery steeped in these venerable stories. All photography is from her own portfolios or family archives.
